A Dead-Simple Change That Increased Our Conversion Rate by Over 250%

For the past week we've run a very simple test on our sales page, http://www.kajabiapp.com. The test centered exlusively on the green "Call to Action" button.

The test did not involve changing the style or color of the button; instead, the only variable that changed was the language used on the button.

Here are the results:

The results revealed that the button with the text, "Get started today!" outperformed the original button, "See Plans & Pricing" by over 250%. Our team was surprised that one button clearly dominated the others. We expected a negligible change in the conversion rate between the buttons.

Thats very interesting data. I always like to analyze why split tests worked or failed so you can then formulate the next split test. ok, so here is my thoughts.

The "get instant access" has been used for ages, I wonder if people are becoming blind to it. It is odd, because "instant access" is faster than "today" Do they not want it "instantly" hmm. maybe I am looking at this a bit too logically and need to switch to a different perspective.

Maybe "instant access" is a bit too wordy for the eye to absorb and comprehend.

if that is the case, then this could be confirmed by using an easier way to say "instant access" without the wordiness. ok, so based on that to confirm this, here is what I would test:

test "get started now!" against the "get started today!"

That would take care of the "too wordy" problem and "now" would be technically faster than "today" so it should be superior to the mind, but is a shorter word.

Also, I am wondering if you have tested the color as orange instead of green. As in my tests, orange always outconverts green cta buttons except on very low content pages like upsell pages, then green works better as you no longer need to grab the persons attention in the peripheral as the button should be right in the foveal view.

... speaking of this "Get started today" button, can my Kajabi portal create an intro page like yours ( http://www.kajabiapp.com )?

Would this simply be a standby page with my own HTML?
Or would I create my own intro page on my own domain with the "get started today" button going to my funnel or sales page?

Just trying to get a grip on the best method...
